At Your Service
Building a Communication Standard for a Military Community
As a civilian Marketing Specialist supporting the 12th Services Marketing Department at Randolph Air Force Base, I created and launched a monthly publication covering twenty-seven facilities and mailed to approximately 8,000 customers.
The Situation
The 12th Services organization supported twenty-seven facilities and activities across Randolph Air Force Base, each with programs, events, services, and information competing for the attention of the same community. The challenge was creating a more consistent way to bring those messages together and make them useful to customers.
What I Did
As a civilian Marketing Specialist, I created and launched At Your Service, a monthly publication that brought information from across the Services organization into one coordinated communication. I was responsible for developing the publication system and bringing together content, visual communication, production, and recurring distribution.
The work required more than designing individual pages. Each issue had to organize information from multiple activities into something consistent, recognizable, and practical enough to reproduce month after month.
Selected Work
- Publication concept and system
- Monthly editorial and production structure
- Visual communication and page design
- Coordination of information across twenty-seven facilities and activities
- Print production
- Distribution to approximately 8,000 club members/customers
- Recurring community marketing communication
What Changed
At Your Service created a consistent communication vehicle for programs and services across the Randolph community. The publication became a recognized model within the Air Force Services community and the work was recognized through a Star Performer designation by the Curtis E. LeMay Evaluation Team.
